Natasha Artemieva-Beard

Natasha Artemieva-Beard has the unique qualification of being able to practice law in both the United States and in the Russian Federation.

A Russian native, she is a world traveler, having spent time, besides the U.S. and Russia, in India and in Norway, where she met her American husband.

Always a high achiever, Ms. Artemieva-Beard holds a law degree from Russia’s top ranked law school, Moscow State University. She also holds an advanced degree in law (LL.M.) from the Russian School of Civil Law, considered the most selective graduate program of its kind in Russia. She became a member of the Russian bar in 1995.

After receiving her Russian legal education, she worked for “G.U.M.” Department Store, one of Russia’s largest corporations, located in Red Square, where she quickly rose through the ranks of the legal department to become one of that company’s leading attorneys.

She led the “G.U.M.” staff in undertaking complex issues of securities regulations (including a successful project on American Depositary Receipts). She dealt with a variety of business and international transactions, including international sales of goods contracts, drafting and negotiating lease terms with numerous foreign lessees, and in preparing the annual shareholders meeting.

In addition to that, her other professional accomplishments at “G.U.M.” included being supervising attorney for commercial and consumer litigation, starting and leading an American Depositary Receipt project; providing direction to the accounting office while they were transforming the Russian accounting system to a GAAP system; establishing and proving that the “G.U.M.” historical building is qualified to be a UNESCO protected site, being a personal legal consultant to the President of “G.U.M.”, being responsible for keeping the main office and 14 branch offices’ charters and other internal documents updated.

Arriving in the United States in 2001, she pursued her American legal education, becoming a member of the Tennessee bar in 2005.

Before opening her current Oak Ridge law office, Ms. Artemieva-Beard worked as an Associate in the Oak Ridge law firm of Mostoller, Stulberg and Whitfield, which specializes in consumer bankruptcy. While there, she researched and won a case that was cited in Consumer Bankruptcy News Vol. 16, Issue 19, September 14, 2006 and in Tennessee Attorneys Memo Vol. 31, No. 50, December 11, 2006.

She left the Mostoller law firm and opened her current firm in order to play to her strengths, by using her expertise in U.S. immigration law and Russian law, and her connections to the Russian legal and business environments, to be of the greatest benefit to her clients.

Since arriving in the United States, Ms. Artemieva-Beard has shown the same professional attitude that she displayed while practicing law in Russia. Her American clients have always found her to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, highly motivated, highly organized, and committed to their best interests.
